Our Medical Group has been treating patients since 19__, near the Sharp Memorial campus. In 2007, we moved next door into a new medical complex to better serve the changing medical needs of you and your family. Our office utilizes Electronic Health Records (HER) to improve management your medical records and conserve paper. And our new online My Metro, is a state-of-the-art online medical website giving you access to your medical record and labs and allowing you the freedom to refill prescriptions, schedule appointments and contact us.


Metro Family Physicians provides comprehensive health care for the entire family. We practice medicine with care and compassion while utilizing the latest technology to provide exceptional car. We do our best to simplify the process of healthcare for our patients.


About Family Physicians

Your family doctor has received special training in treating health problems and the practice of preventative care for babies, children, teenagers, adults and senior. She is concerned with the health matters of individuals as well as the health of the entire family. Your doctor has received special training in the areas of internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry and geriatrics. Prevention of disease as well as utilization of community resources are also areas of special focus.


Doctors

Ada Marin, MD, MPH [picture to come]

Dr. Marin earned her MD at the New York Medical College and completed her Family Medicine residency at UCSD in 1986. In 2001, she earned a Masters in Public Health in Health Services Administration from San Diego State University.

In 2004, Dr. Marin was selected as one of "San Diego’s Top Doctors." She is also a past winner of the Golden Apple Award and, in 1994, was selected by CAFP to attend President Clinton’s Health Care Reform event at the White House.


In addition to managing Metro Family Physicians Medical Group, Dr. Marin volunteers with a variety of organizations and institutions. Since 1986, Dr. Marin has been a volunteer clinical instructor and professor at the UCSD School of Medicine, Department of Family and Preventative Medicine.


Dr. Marin transitioned Metro Family to electronic health records (EHR) , increasing efficiencies in documentation and greatly reducing the use of paper. Besides her willingness to adapt to new technology, her practice is one of the first groups to begin formulating a diabetes registry, which will lead to improved quality of care for patients with other chronic diseases. She is fluent in Spanish, and enjoys photography, travel and writing.
